I believe the first thing is to decide if you’d like a church ceremony, or if you require a reception venue that can also accommodate the ceremony details that you prefer.
Next, both sides of the family should put together a rough guest list, so that you know what size venue you should search for. There is no reason to waste your time on a locations that may be too big or too small.
