Our Catering Director, Janet Logan, has put together some tips that will be helpful in planning one of the most special days of your life:
I believe the first thing is to decide if you’d like a church ceremony, or if you require a reception venue that can also accommodate the ceremony details that you prefer.
Next, both sides of the family should put together a rough guest list, so that you know what size venue you should search for. There is no reason to waste your time on a locations that may be too big or too small.
Next, I suggest you put together a “wish list” for your perfect wedding location. The great thing about the wedding industry is that there is something out there for everyone’s taste and budget. Don’t just settle. This is an important decision. Be patient and open minded and you will find it!
Be careful of all the DIY ideas. You don’t want to put TOO much on your plate and get in over your head at a time that you should be relaxed. For example, I find a lot of brides wish they had just hired a florist rather than creating and transporting their own centerpieces and such.
The seven most common requests as a couple is planning their dream wedding are these:
- A location where theirs is the only wedding taking place.
- A beautiful room with windows with a view.
- Excellent food and menu flexibility.
- Outdoor patio access for their guests throughout the event.
- Private Brides Room.
- A venue where the dancing and bar are in the same space, so not to split your party in two.
- A place with helpful reliable customer service to keep them “stress free” while planning this very special day.
