Here at Boulder Ridge Country Club hosts love to chat about different event options. There are several fun things to consider to change it up from year to year. Before starting on this party planning journey you may consider polling your invited guests for opinions. People are entertained by the fact that they are included in the planning. Add an idea request on your “save the date” if sending one. If keeping it simple you can use Evite and add a line for fun party ideas to be returned with the RSVP.
Theme parties are fun but you may choose to keep it simple. Some groups feel that if a themed event it’s too much trouble they won’t get the group size they’re hoping for. For example, not everyone may be up for getting a costume together for a masquerade ball, but throwing on your favorite Hawaiian shirt or tropical print dress for a “Beachy Party” theme is no problem, right? Add a fun summery menu and beverages too. Even in the cold of winter! Color themes are easy too. Have a black and white party, or maybe red and green if it’s the holidays.
Other Things to Consider:
Entertainment - This category has a very wide range depending on your budget. Bands, DJ’s, Comedians, Mystery Dinner Parties, etc. If you can choose a less popular day of the week you can often find more reasonable pricing for your event.
Door prize or party favor - Consider a gift card for each guest! Have a hat full of gift cards from different places to draw from. Guests can then trade.
Games - Break the ice! Games are a great ice-breaker. Often the guests that typically avoid games are the ones that have the most fun.
Photo Opportunities - If a photo booth isn't in the budget, Selfie Stations are still a bit hit.
